Washington, D.C. I was a real hippie in Washington, D.C. I lived in a
communal apartment in Georgetown, hung out all night in
Dupont Circle playing my guitar, and sang and played along
with Susan Musselman (a girl with the most unbelievable
pitch) in a duo that performed at the Cellar Door on the
bill with a guy named John Dusseldorfer (later known as John
Denver). One night a blind man came up to me and asked if he
could play my guitar. I was quite reticent but Susan nudged
me in the ribs and said, "For God's sake, let 'im."
José Feliciano then showed me what a really good
guitar player sounds like. Those were the days, - make love,
not war.
